Christmas Classic Vehicle and Steam Meet 2018
A new event for the Dorset Group last year was the Christmas Classic Vehicle & Steam Meet held at The Top O' Town carpark in Dorchester on Sunday 16th December 2018. Organised by the Transport of Yesteryear. Now in its 15th year, this was the first time the event was held on this venue. It is thought that over 60 vehicles were on display. Including a good turn out from our Dorset Group.
Top O' Town Carpark, Dorchester Dorset
Despite a bitterly cold December Day, many owners brought their vehicles to the Christmas Vehicle and Steam meet at the Top O' Town Carpark in Dorchester. Rob Stanley took his VW Campervan. We were also pleased to welcome a new Dorset member, Tony along with his brother Alan. Tony had his all original 32,000 mile A35 van that he's just bought. It's been stored off the road for the past 21 years and it's stunning. Alan had his lovely 1953 sign written Ford van. Several other vehicles were on display ranging from the very early steam-powered vehicles right up to 1980s Ford Sierras and Austin Meastros. It is believed that over 60 vehicles were in attendance. Let's hope next year will be even bigger.

The layby on the A35 just outside Bere Regis. A bitterly cold start but many people braved the elements. Despite the forecast of heavy rain, it stayed mostly dry throughout the morning.
